A wee bit early...
Easter isn't until April 20th this year, but I put up my Ostereierbaum, Easter Egg Tree, anyway. No one knows the origins of this tradition which began in Germany hundreds of years ago, but I do one every year, at least indoors. I was in Moscow in 2004 on April 11th. It was a rare time when the Eastern Orthodox and Western Easters coincided. I took a photo of the nighttime procession around a church near our hotel. I don't remember the name of the church, there are over 600 in the city, but it was a sight to see with the candles and chanting. (extra) Of course, eggs are long associated with Easter as well as the Celtic festival of Ostara and the Vernal Equinox. So, hop to it! It is never too early to celebrate Spring!
