Between fen and mountains

Canal de Bohère

I even had to cancel the shorter morning walk that was planned this morning as it was raining first thing. It was a shame in that the weather forecast was wrong and from 10 am onwards it was an improving picture even with some sunshine. Instead, I returned a defective microwave to the supermarket under guarantee. Unsurprisingly, the whole process took me nearly an hour. They kept me waiting for ages at customer service with never a smile or an apology but I am used to that in France. The customer is not king! In the end, I got a credit note and bought another microwave. By this time the weather had improved so Mrs TT and I walked above Prades for an hour or so following the canal. We arrived at the siphon which transports water in an underground pipe all the way across the valley from a point higher on the other side purely by gravity. We had a fine view of the mediaeval abbey of Saint Michel de Cuixa.
