A walk with Steven

What a lovely day we've had. This morning we met Blipper Edisteve for a walk around the lagoons at Musselburgh. We love going walking with Steven because he likes walking as much as we do and he knows loads of exciting places to go.

Unfortunately we were late arriving because pretty much everywhere we drive, roads are being dug up and there are temp traffic lights in place. Edinburgh must have the worst roads in the UK for potholes. Grrrrrr...........

Anyway, it was a lovely sunny day so we set off for the lagoons. Before we left, Steven gave me some pressies. He is such a kind man. He gave me two packets of treats which I love, but my favourite pressie was a squeaky ball. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. I was allowed to take it on the walk so I carried it for about 3 hours. Even when the humans stopped for lunch (at the Sizzlers caravan that sells unhealthy human treats) I just lay down with it in my mouth. Well, I did until Steven fed me a few chips. Chips are very tasty.

We walked for 5.5 miles today and I had loads of run about time and every time I got to a new expanse of grass I rolled around on my back. Sometimes I had to put my new ball down to do rolling about and I think Steven was a bit worried that I might forget to pick it up again. As if?!

It was like summer today. After we'd walked around the lagoons we walked to Fisherow Harbour and sat on a wall in the sunshine beside the beach to eat lunch. Well the humans did. I got tied to a seat and had to watch the humans eat chips & burgers. Obviously when we walked through the town I had to go back on my lead, but just before we got back to Steven's house, we walked through some playing fields so I got even more off lead time. Yay!

We've had such a lovely day. When we got home I had the longest drink ever, because even though there were various places where I could have had a drink, I wasn't going to let go of my ball and then I lay guarding my new ball for about half an hour. I'm in bed now having a snooze.

Thank you Steven for taking me out for such a lovely day. x
