Sao Cristovao near Boa Ventura
There was a massive storm last night - the airport of course closed!
This morning we walked up into the village for a coffee and in the afternoon walked along the sea front down the coast to watch the waves in turmoil.
We ended up here at Sao Cristovao for a drink. I unfortunately disgraced myself - the hot chocolates were served in long thin glasses on saucers, mine for some reason ended up on the floor in bits with liquid everywhere including me! The Venezuelan waitress moved us to the next table out of the debris and gave me another, with which you would never believe, the same thing happened!! The floor by this time was awash with Yellow caution signs up and people sidestepping to the counter, the waitresses were very kind and gave me a third this time in a cup with a handle .... it was good to get outside again!
There is a footpath up the steep side of the mountain face in the picture, apparently it takes 3 hours to walk. The Dolphin rock is in the extras as is the Poinsettia and greenery in Porta Delgada. We were going to walk along a Levada but unfortunately it was too risky after the bad weather.
