Characterful

A sunny, warm day. I walked to Emsworth to do a few errands this morning. It felt so good to be outside enjoying the spring weather.

The extension to my wooden compost bin arrived at lunchtime, so afterwards I took it to the allotment and constructed it. The sunny weather had encouraged others to visit their plots so it was a sociable visit catching up with people not seen over the winter months.

By the time we walked Merlin this afternoon the sun had disappeared behind the clouds and it was overcast. This made rice pudding and a homemade blackcurrant jam feel perfectly justified for pudding!

This old chestnut fencing is slowly disintegrating but is covered with lichen which appears to thriving. In the distance the pink petals of a camellia shrub lie on the grass, probably dropped on a frosty morning this week.
