I think this is a buff-tailed bumblebee and I think it's female (I might be wrong on both counts). I love the long tongue and the way it can get inside these small (rusty foxglove flowers' (Digitalis ferruginea).

J was collected by his mum at around seven tonight as she came back from work - she'd been to Lilleshall today. He returns with his brother on Sunday afternoon for two more nights before they go to Wales on holiday.
