A lovely day

Wall to wall sunshine today and I clocked a temp of 17.8C in our back garden. It's measured in full shade. It didn't feel that warm though, probably due to the stiff breeze. I did get hot doing the lawns with the electric rake - it sounds easy and not much effort but the collection box fills rapidly and needs frequent emptying - some inevitable spills out as you remove it so you end up having to gather that up. I lost count of how many times I emptied the collection box. So much dead grass but there is still more - I only went over each lawn once today because if I carry on doing more I'll end up with bare patches were the lawns were!
There seems to be a lot more "thatch" in the lawns than usual, especially the front one. Once it had been raked I spotted a few patches of moss in there too which is a devil to get rid of. 
Our cars look a right mess - the other day we noticed they were covered in dust which must have blown in on the strong wind we had recently. The cars both need a trip to the car wash although they were gleaming the day before the dust landed.
