Historic railway
In Vietnam, in 1932, the French colonial administration opened an 84 km railway line to connect the hill-station of Da Lat to the main north-south line. On three particularly steep sections rack-rails were used. The line was abandoned during the Vietnam War. A 7 km section has been restored as a tourist railway, which our tour group travelled on today. There are plans to restore the entire route.
