Between fen and mountains

Casot

This rural building looks strange next to the modern house. It is a casot, a local Catalan term for a traditional stone shelter, often found in vineyards, where vineyard workers would take refuge from the elements and store tools. This was almost certainly agricultural land but it is near the centre of the village and I suppose the house builders decided to leave it as a useful outhouse. It rained heavily today so I made more bread in the knowledge that I won't be able to make any while the new kitchen is being installed. The tennis practice was naturally cancelled.
