Another Day

First to flower

JJ has spent the day cleaning the conservatory guttering, has taken off all the end supports to clean and is now going around each window scrubbing off the green muck that gathers over the winter.  He probably won't finish today because it's a very big room.

I did a wash, which has dried well on the line, hosed down the mat which sits just inside the conservatory door and gets a lot of use because it's where the wellies and outdoor shoes reside.

I've cleared a few more twigs from the borders and turned over the soil in areas where I know there are no bulbs to come through.  I've also been over the back shifting more rubbish.

The red kites, buzzards and ravens have been annoying one another and a chiffchaff has been singing its heart out at the top of a silver birch, plus a woodpecker of sorts has been drumming.  I also heard but didn't see, a bullfinch.

This is the first of the larger anemones to open.
