Chiffchaff #38
Backblip
The true sign of spring for me is when the chiffchaffs start singing in earnest - chiffchaffing their way around the country in preparation for breeding. Yesterday at Burton Mere they were everywhere and it's a lovely sound. Today I was working in the garden for a few hours and could hear them too. They rarely visit our garden, but there is a small patch of woodland down the footpath behind our housing estate so I went out for a breather to see if I could find them.
Normally high up in the tops of trees, this one was a little lower down so I managed a reasonable shot despite the shadows.
Never got around to downloading it last night I'm afraid. Will catch up with journals now too as I've missed a few days for a lot of people.
