Birthday back blip

A lovely busy birthday - for me and for Eben. Also for our very old friend Marie, who is exactly the same age as me. So I'm uploading this on Saturday morning.
Richard and I spent much of the day getting a joint birthday tea ready: meat loaf, roast potatoes and vegetables, as requested by Eben. Then I dropped in on Marie to exchange birthday greetings, and went on to pick up Marianna, Frieda, Simone and Ruth from their side of town. Meanwhile, Josh and Jack made their own way to our house, with Eben and Luca.
Josh had made a beautiful birthday cake. There are a few glimpses of cheery times in the extras. These are mainly Jack's images, taken on my camera. He has a skill with using shallow depth of field that I can rarely match.
I feel very lucky to have them all so close to us, and to be able to share these times together.
