Snakeshead fritillary

I've planted these in various spots in the garden, with limited success. But they seem to have taken well in one place, at the foot of the sunny wall where there's a fan-trained cherry tree. I almost missed them as I wandered about, checking the progress of buds on the cherry tree after hanging out a load of washing.
Val and I returned to our Thursday morning walk routine this morning, albeit a fairly short one (followed by coffee and cake). It's just a glorious day to be out in the sunshine.
