The Kyles of Bute
We left the Lakes this morning and took a rather torturous route from Coniston up to Keswick the good thing about it was that we managed to see a red squirrel which was great. We stopped off at Booths in Keswick to get some supplies as we're now self-catering.
We made good progress north and the route only got congested as we approached Glasgow. We carried on past Loch Lomond, turned left and eventually reached our destination at Colintraive.
My blip is the view from the window of our cottage which is just yards from the water. The land mass on the left across the water is the Isle of Bute. We've already seen seals (grey, I think) and a variety of sea birds. One I don't think I've seen before is in as an extra. It's a black guillemot as opposed to the common guillemot and is much smaller. As you'll see it's black all over except for the white wing patches whereas the common guillemot has a white front.
I think I'm going to enjoy looking out but I'll try to tear myself away to see other places.
