All My Ducks in a Row
You're right, they're not ducks, they're swans, Whooper swans, in fact and it was good to see them.
I went out earlyish again this morning and walked along the shore of Coniston Water. It was more overcast and warmer so no frost.
After breakfast I decided I'd take Marian to Wastwater as it's one of my favourite places and she hadn't been there. It was a lovely drive going the wiggly way, rather than up the A593. At one point I screeched to a halt having spotted a lovely barn and I had to have a picture. I've put that in as an extra. We arrived at Wastwater and were surprised to find that there were white horses on the surface of the lake with spindrift blowing off the tops of the waves. We parked up and watched a couple of people being blown about. I eventually got out of the car and walked up for the view up the lake but I couldn't stand up the wind was blowing so hard. What made it surprising to me was that half an hour earlier we'd stopped for coffee and it was so nice that we sat outside with our drinks. Anyway, I sat down on a rock and managed to hold steady to take a couple of shots. I've put one in as an extra.
It's our last day in the lakes and we'll be heading up to Scotland tomorrow.
