Early bird
I was ahead of myself this morning, no point in getting to Tesco's until 9am, so I drove up to the allotment site with the kitchen waste for the compost bin. Could easily have stayed and got stuck in to weeding & tidying the beds, but managed to stop myself. Drove into Kingsteignton, still early, so picked a few veggies, & a fresh turkey thigh joint for lunch tomorrow. 8.50am. I was first in the queue for the Tesco mobile shop. The assistant checked hubby's phone, decided to do a sim swap. 10 minutes later I was heading back to CK. I went via Bellamarsh as I wanted eggs. Pulled in, no eggs in the roadside cabinet. Jo had told me to knock on the door if I needed to. I walked up through the yard surrounded by converted farm buildings, found her door. Oh dear, she came to the door in her dressing gown. I apologised, said not to worry. "No, come inside, I'll fetch some" . I chatted to her partner while waiting. She appeared, dressed. "You might as well come with me to collect the eggs if you'd like". I want to come back as a Silly Cow chicken. 30 very happy healthy chicken of all shapes & sizes (like the eggs), plus 8 Indian Runner ducks, very swish nest boxes, enclosed in a large paddock surrounded by electric mesh fencing to keep the foxes out. The guided tour meant I was late arriving at Mum's but she did'nt realise I was late. Breakfast for Mum, then walk Indie. Lots of glorious birdsong but grey skies. Mum & I had a go at the children's puzzle section of the weekend i paper. We only managed the wordsearch. :-(
Made lunch for Mum then drove to the hospital. John had enquired about me visiting & told it was okay. I wore a mask, kept my distance, & washed my hands thoroughly on leaving. J's room was well ventilated with the window open as wide as possible. He was happy to get his phone back.
