Him and me...
You know I am getting really desperate for a blip when I turn the camera on us! LOL!
We had planned to clean the Gin Palace this afternoon (well I was going to supervise ;-) but when D suggested we treat ourselves to lunch at The Cairn instead, how could I refuse?
We were given the usual warm welcome and realised we hadn't been there since we went with Keith and Mairi on Christmas Eve. That seems like two minutes ago!
The food was delicious as usual. Mussels to start for D and Caprese salad for me, then we both had chicken Milanese with garlic mash and a selection of garden veg. D then had affogato but I was too full for anything else and settled for peppermint tea.
Trundled home and made it in time just before the heavens opened. Perfect timing. D headed to the driving range for an hour and I crocheted some more of one of the pram blankets.
Spent a little time in the study prepping the canvas for the acrylic painting course starting Monday. I bought these canvases ages ago and didn't realise the bleached cotton hadn't been primed for painting (no wonder they were so cheap!) so I got a coat of gesso onto it and will do a second coat tomorrow. I do have more expensive canvases already primed but will keep those for once I've done the course and hopefully learned something. They're too good to practice on.
No dinner required, just some cheese and crackers then settled down to watch an episode of Vera. We are building up to watching the much talked about drama Adolescence starring the wonderful Stephen Graham, but need to be in the right mood for it, and this evening we wanted something a bit lighter.
