Remembering Kaye

22nd March is the birthday of my late sister Kaye. She would have been 72 this year, but she died at the age of only 44 - hit by a car which mounted the pavement. We were told her death was instant. My sister Susan and I will always miss her. She was our middle sister, and the gap that was ripped into our family will never be repaired - we have just learned to live with it. Led by our late parents, we forgave the driver of the car, who must also live with the terrible events of that December morning. Not to forgive would have meant the rest of our lives being tainted with bitterness.

And so, we remember Kaye - not just on her birthday and on the anniversary of her death, but every single day.

Solidarity with everyone who has lost a loved one suddenly and unexpectedly in a road accident. Our Mum and Dad never recovered from the shock to the end of their days. My one wish is that everybody who drives would pay proper attention to the road conditions and kill their speed, not other innocent people.

I have done a new edit of one of our limited photos of Kaye in honour of her birthday, which is in Extras.
