Svolvaer

We arrived in Norway late last night and stayed in a hotel 'near' the airport which actually turned out to be 1.5km away.   There were also no taxis or other transport so we had to walk along a road covered with frozen slush and uphill in the dark.

Anyway we arrived safely and returned to the airport by taxi this morning to pick up our hire car.  The 4 minute taxi ride cost us £50 (welcome to Norway!) but was better than walking again.

We are now in Svolvaer after a drive through stunning countryside and staying in a nice hotel.  We walked out onto a small headland to get this shot and then walked back to go to a charming restaurant where we ate a meal of the traditional dried cod which was delicious.

We saw the Aurora  outside the restaurant but didn't have our cameras.  Technophobe blipped a phone shot.
