Best laid plans!

Wet this morning, it was forecast so we planned to go into Palma. When we headed down to breakfast the sun had come through so we thought all would be OK. Whilst eating the heavens opened and it really poured down.
There was a huge queue to get into breakfast as we left as the outside seating was too wet to use.
We decided we would be soaked just heading for the bus so we did something we never do - stayed in and read! Also we used the coffee maker instead of getting one out another first for us.
The rain stopped at about 11.00, it still looked a bit iffy but we headed out. First to locate the bus stop as we’ll reschedule Palma for tomorrow. We had intended using the train but we’ve done it before and the bus will be quicker and cheaper.
We only had a few spots of rain whilst we were out but the cloud has hung around the mountains all day.

Some plans will have been badly interrupted as you get some serious walkers and fitness fanatics and in particular serious cyclists around here at this time of year. The mountain roads are perfect early season training for them and they can be quite tricky to pass if you are driving. There are always lots of bike carriers being checked in when we fly here. The sneaky extra collage of some of them amused me.

We stopped for Tapas and a drink overlooking the marina watching boats being craned in and out of the water. I think we have a different idea of Tapas, we shared two and there’s no way either of us could have eaten both never mind 3-4!

We continued to the end of the bay to try to reach and explore the lower lighthouse seen in the  extra centre right. Unfortunately we couldn’t get beyond the marina as it is a military zone. The lighthouse we walked to on Saturday is the higher one to the left.

Back now for a cuppa on the balcony, not such a bad day after all and warmer in the sun as the wind we had yesterday has gone. Probably a good thing to have a more relaxed day though we’ve still done nearly 12,000 steps, it’s a long promenade!
Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

The blip was taken above the marina on the little road up to the Far museum where we thought we might access the lighthouse. It’s right across the other side of the bay from our hotel.  I first spotted this house on Saturday with its little roof dining terrace, it would suit me very well!
