Poems and prose

Sunshine and shadows again today. Trying to sort out photo club scores this morning, but it got too complicated so  it's going to have to wait until I get back from London in a couple of weeks.

Another u3a Creative Writing Group meeting today - meeting in the same friend's house overlooking the Isle of Kerrera and the Sound of Mull. No real chance of a different picture - I was given a lift and could hardly expect my driving friend to stop and let me out for photographs!

Four of us this time - a fifth had a last minute puncture over on Kerrera and couldn't get down to the ferry.  Our 'Mystery Object' today was a small salt cellar in the shape of a pig, carved from a grainy block of wood. This produced some interesting write-ups, as you might imagine. It's always a surprise to find what you can write in ten minutes, with no time for thought!

One of our number is a superb writer and poet who produces some amazing work. Maybe one day he'll be published!

Quote of the Day: 'Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood.' - T. S. Eliot.
