Uttakleiv

Woke up to find 2" snow on the ground and still snowing heavily.   

We had planned to drive down to Leknes via a coast road.  We set off carefully in the snow and were very pleased that the hire car had studded tyres which gripped well.
We hadn't left the town before we were stopped by a random police check who breathalyzed me (a first) and checked my licence.   After warning us about the weather conditions we were soon on our way again.
The views were amazing with the fresh snow and driving wasn't too bad despite being a bit slow.
Unfortunately the coffee shop we found on Sunday was closed so we went off to Uttakleiv beach with its interesting rock features,
It continued to alternate between sunshine and vicious squalls of hail which were most uncomfortable to walk through.   It remained very windy and cold.
Despite this we had a good day.   The picture shows the heart shaped rock at the beach.   Jane searched for the famous dragons eye rock but never found it.   The weather at that time was terrible.
