Harstad
What a day! It was chucking down with snow when we woke up and there was 4-5 inches covering the car.
We had no choice but to check out and head for our next booked hotel which was 170km away in Harstad. The snow all the way was really heavy and although we came across several snow ploughs, the road was mainly covered in snow. Its amazing how well the studded snow tyres coped with it but it was still very tiring driving for 4 hours in blizzard conditions.
We are now in Harstad where it is heavily overcast and still snowing. To make things worse, there is a red Aurora alert but there is no chance of seeing anything.
Harstad is a bit bleak and the only picture I took today is this rather splendid brand spanking new fishing boat moored in the harbour.
Hopefully the weather will lift tomorrow as we are planning to drive to some interesting islands. Heading back to the airport for our journey home on Friday :-(
