Puck's Hut

There's been a bit more breeze today making the water a bit more choppy. We decided to go to Benmore Botanic Gardens, part of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. We never expect lots of colour in gardens at this time of year but Benmore expects to have some rhododendrons flowering. There's been a lot of damage from January's Storm Eowyn and Benmore has been hit quite badly. Our visit clashed with the start of the repairs and there were a lot of paths closed unfortunately. There was a lot of noise from chainsaws and other machinery so it wasn't a very peaceful visit.

My blip is of Puck's Hut, which I think was originally in the nearby Puck's Glen (which is unfortunately closed due to storm damage) and was moved to Bemore at some point in the past. It's dedicated to Sir Isaac Bayley Balfour an important figure in the RBGE and the little figure on the finial is the newly renovated Puck, a mischievous fairy.

I'll add an extra of the Redwood Avenue that is undergoing renovation and another of the grey seals that are resting over the water.
