Cherry blossoms

Today has been a beautiful day, 17C and warm with sunshine and blue skies. It truly felt like spring (but all change by Friday!)

Having our golf lesson outside on the putting green was too warm, we were all stripping off our jackets but enjoying the sunshine. After coffee with my group I came home via the florist as I went to get some flowers for my friend, who I went to see after lunch. She had a skiing accident which resulted in surgery, and is now unable to drive so was in need of company!

Our cherry tree has just started getting blossoms on it, unfortunately they last for a very short time - despite today being the first day I noticed some open blossoms on the tree, there were already petals lying on the ground.

Tonight I am going to book club, we read Long Island by Colm Tóibín, the sequel to Brooklyn after 15 years. It was his usual gentle and quiet style of writing with excellent character developments.
