Phainopepla

An all black bird sounds boring, but in person, especially in the sun, the shiny Phainopepla are beautiful. This one showed up in the park and posed nicely for me.

Just got off the phone with Albuquerque brother who I haven’t talked to in months. It was nice to hear his voice. I’m going to try to prod Reno brother into a call soon. Texts are nice but there’s nothing like catching up in an actual conversation.

Here’s a question for Canon users: do you use an electronic or mechanical shutter setting? Default is electronic.
