Roaldshornet
Another wet day. Took the short ferry trip across Hjørundfjorden from Saebø to Lekneset and drove round to Stranda, in search of snow at Strandafjellet Skisenter. The ski tows and runs on the north side of the road were closed and we skinned up a blue ski run to the top of Roaldshornet at 1230m, passed a rather impressive cornice near the top. It wasn't raining when we left the car park and it stayed dry till we got back down. Icy conditions at the top made for difficult skiing conditions at the start, but it got easier when we got onto an unpisted red ski run and got quite slushy further down, but easy skiing.
Today's blip is looking down Sunnylvsfjorden from the top of the ski lift on Roaldshornet. The extra is a shot from the ferry across Hørjundsforden.
