Sister act
A manic early start to the day to ensure that the children were at the dentist in Windermere in good time, was nearly undone by a very small area of roadworks which added about 30 minutes to a journey which should only have taken 15.
All sorted though and the children’s teeth are in good health, which was welcome news!
This preceded a very quiet day at work, which is a little unnerving as it is meant to be our busiest period of the year.
Fortunately, Wednesday night without the children means rehearsal night, so off I headed to Burneside to get my teeth further into The Scottish Play.
I don’t know whether it was the mid-week lull or the fact I was wearing contact lenses, but I was utterly useless this evening and kept losing my place in the script!
Actually, I might blame the presence of my sister (pictured on the left here in a scene with Lois, who some keen-eyed observers may recognise from her role as Aladdin....I forget what play it was....) for putting me off! It did feel a little weird being in the rehearsal space with her for the first time, but while I stumbled, tripped and clattered over my lines. She was the consummate amateur professional in the delivery of hers.
It was all good fun though, I just need to remember to put my acting teeth in next time out!
