A Wild Goose Chase

After church and coffee, my friend Alison and I spent the afternoon on what turned out to be a wild goose chase. First of all, we had lunch at Claire’s Cabin which is at Tom’s Farm Shop just outside Tiptree. Alison had a Greek salad and I had grilled squeaky cheese (haloumi), which was enjoyable. I had thought - wrongly - that I’d seen some summerhouses outside to look at. Having ascertained that they didn’t really do summerhouses at Tom’s Farm Shop, we went over to the Mill Race garden centre at Aldham, where I was absolutely certain there were loads of summerhouses on show. Alas no longer! But we had a look around anyway, as Alison had never been there and I hadn’t been for about three years. The aquatics centre was still there, so here’s a selection of fishy friends swimming in their tanks. On the way home, we thought we might as well call in at Perrywoods - the king of garden centres which has won awards. We had a cuppa there, and I couldn’t resist a slab of their homemade Rocky Road - yum! Perrywoods always do beautiful displays, and it’s all looking very pretty and springlike in there with Easter goodies. So although I didn’t get to look at any summerhouses, we did have a pleasant afternoon ambling about in the sunshine. I’ve now discovered a local nurseries that does have a garden buildings concession on site, so I’ll pop along there soon to check it out. It was nice to get away from sorting stuff indoors for a change. Tomorrow I need to start organising electrician, decorator and carpeting for the main bedroom (all local people recommender by friends) and also phone the Wren designer with the tweak to my fitted wardrobe order.
