We moved like caged tigers ....
First job back home (after three loads of washing) is collect the cats
Dave and Jen have a beautiful cattery... In the countryside about 8 miles from home
Oh dearie me. Those 8 miles are angst ridden. Taking them down is awful. We can't feed them before we go - they start a gawd awful howling as soon as they see the boxes. We leave it til the very very last minute.
They sing a chorus of yowls culminating in the deep throated yowl / growl which preceeds a vomit
When we turned up someone else was collecting too ....
Dave saw us and shouted Jen and within a couple of minutes we could hear them
They do the exact same to them as they do to us
Jen came up and said 'oh they make me feel so bad when I can't feed them and they must know you are coming and they start howling".
They howled all the way home. With one of them throwing in a dry vomit just for badness
Once they were home - front and back gardens examined in detail: food demanded with menaces and then a run round their territory to check for invaders
