Faith in Humanity
What happened to me today will restore your faith in humanity.
On the tube coming home at lunchtime from my photography class I checked the cash in my wallet. I got off the train and two hundred metres up the road when I went over to the cash machine I couldn't find the wallet. I searched my pockets and emptied my bag but it was gone! Oh no. it must have fallen out of my pocket.
I rang the station and a friend dropped into the terminus station but it hadn't been handed in. I gave it up for lost and proceeded to cancel my various cards. And I was going to have to get a new driving licence. What a pain.
Then a few minutes ago this evening there was a knock at the door and a charming gent with a big smile was there on the step with the missing wallet! Yaz had spotted it on the seat and picked it up shortly after I had got off the train. He tracked me down with a google search and drove round. What a diamond.
Here is Yaz. He wouldn't let me give him money for a drink and in fact gave me a gift of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil from Sicily which he is importing with a business partner.
Look it up - it's going to be delicious.
So although I have now got to wait for my new cards I can sleep easy in the knowledge that nobody is trying to extract money from my accounts.
Doesn't it restore your faith in humanity?
Thanks a million Yaz.
