Apples and Oranges

Tuesday

And another excursion with work. This time we went to one of the museums in Uppsala, but before we got there we walked around Uppsalas' cathedral and had a picnic in the park just outside the main University building. I was going to blip the University building, but I really liked this photo inside the cathedral.
It's large, in fact it's the largest cathedral in Scandinavia. The twin towers are 118 meters high and inside it's 27 meters from floor to roof. The building of the cathedral begun in 1270 but it wasn't finished until 1435.
For many hundred years kings and queens were crowned in the cathedral.
It was restored during late 1800, since it was partly destroyed in a large fire that spread across town in 1702. It's latest restoration was during 1971-76 when paintings were cleaned and textiles renewed.

After the excursion I got on a bus to visit my mum for a couple of days.
