Ramblings and Mutterings

She's the Master!

Up at 5am and out of the hotel by 5:30am to head back into the London office.

There were tears when I got in. It feels like things are ending and it's killing me.

Dropped my tuxedo back and had to apologise for the broken bow tie.

Attended a call at 9am which was incredibly frustrating. I was supposed to facilitate discussion around ESG, but with not many people on the call it was very difficult to get discussion going. Plus there was the organiser on the call who knew the businesses that were on the call and could perhaps have helped steer things better. I did not have this knowledge, so it was very difficult for me to get blood out of a stone. I didn't enjoy it.

Changed the time of my train and brought it forward.

My young padawan rang me as she was on her way home. They had headed into Soho after the awards and didn't get back to the hotel until 4:30am. It was a short discussion, she can tell things are not right.

Paddington was quite quiet, to be fair so was London. There were no problems on the train.

Before we left our new CEO rang me to discuss the phone call from Wednesday night to my Head of H&S. I had to explain to him that it was just not on, but I suspect that they will try and force it through. The global business is doing it's very best to ruin us.

My young padawan messaged me as we set off with the news that she's passed her Masters. I'm dead proud of her and so chuffed for her. I've always believed in her ability, often when she was struggling herself, but she has done it now. I think as years go by she will look back on this and think that she completed a Masters whilst in a full-time job and being promoted to the Head of Sustainability role and think, that actually she totally smashed it!

Her graduating also means the odds of her leaving now, increase.

My melancholy mood is not improving.

Hoping for a quiet weekend.

Today I am thankful for:

1.  The amazing news on her Masters for my young padawan
2.  Heading home
3.  Plaice and new potatoes for tea
