A bit of brightness

Brief sunshine in the garden today.

Bathroom Chris came to put in a switch in the cupboard. He hopes to get the floor tiles down on Monday.

I’m tired and grumpy with the sore knee which makes the stairs and walking difficult.

I made some food and a tray bake for the cousins’ party tomorrow in Glencaple. Anne has rented the village hall so that we can celebrate Tom’s retirement. It’ll be interesting to meet them all. I’ll recognise my 5 cousins and hopefully their offspring but as for their 21 grandchildren I won’t have a clue!

Poor Ella had an accident in her basketball game last night. Her mum had to make arrangements for Nathaniel to be looked after when his rehearsal finished so that she could take Ella to the walk-in medical centre. They thought she might have broken her finger so said to go to RVI A&E for x-Ray. They were there till midnight - it’s not a nice place to be on a Friday night. It’s not broken though, just dislocated so she’s all strapped up. She was very brave and cheerful.

We’re taking the van so we don’t have the long drive back and we’ll catch up with Duncan who’ll also be bringing his van.

I’m on the sofa reading Jane Austen.
