Pavillion

OH was at football today and I had arranged to meet an ex-colleague for a coffee.  He is down on his luck but seems to be doing ok and stays positive and humble and unassuming.  I wish there was something I could do to help and will make some phone calls next week?  How can it be that if you arrive on a boat with no passport you are helped with housing, money, mobile phones, driving lessons (if the DT can be believed!) but if you are a British citizen and have paid your taxes .... you get very little help (and none with housing?).  Anyway - going to get off my soap box now.

I decided on a walk after finishing coffee and went to see the new book store at LC.  My friend S is volunteering and had her first shift today so I went to say hello.  It looks very good and she said it was particularly busy today - the sunshine bringing everyone out.

Home via various stops including to pick up a pile of quilting books and magazines which were advertised on our local FB page.  Amazing bundle - free.  However I have enough hobbies currently so I may just pass them on to someone else.

OH home from football then off to care home as he won't see MIL tomorrow.  Pork filet for dinner (googling an air fryer recipe) and then something on TV - need something new to get our teeth into.
