Wet Saturday

Bertie and I were very fortunate to remain dry for most of our morning walk at Calgary and it was only as we were returning to the car that the first spots of rain landed on us. I was amazed at the number of tadpoles that had developed from the frog spawn left in the puddles on the track a few weeks ago, especially as we haven’t had a lot of rain until the last couple of days. My extra really doesn’t do justice to the numbers swimming around this particular puddle.
We had a lovely surprise when our niece contacted us to say that she and her family were visiting her parents for a few days and would like to come over to see us. We had a very enjoyable couple of hours with H and D and their two lovely lads aged 2 and 4. The boys loved Bertie and he was very gentle with them, considering he isn’t used to little people.
We managed most of our afternoon walk in a dry spell but there was lots of water racing down the stream, quite a contrast to the few inches that has wandered lazily downhill over the past few weeks.
