Wind and rain

The pasque flower has opened! Poor thing, it was struggling to stay open in the wind but it is a beautiful plant.
Straight after I'd taken this I took Lottie to the beach. Only two humans and one other dog  there, fighting to walk into the teeth of the gale. I could hardly stand up,  but Lottie was having s great time, running about, digging holes, hunting for interesting smells in the banks of seaweed, snow ploughing her nose through the sand!

We turned back when the rain started but were a good way from the car and got soaked.  I couldn't see through my glasses, I couldn't get my hankie out to dry them, so we blundered on, back to the car, being lashed with haily rain. The 'feels like' temperature was 2.8°C. Hell's teeth!

Spent the afternoon reading and knitting then the three of us went over to J's for supper. Ox cheek casserole followed by gooseberry crumble. Proper warming food, absolutely lovely!  And all the veg came from her garden. A lovely relaxed, happy evening.  Lots of flooding on the roads on the way home, and the flood barriers were up in the village too. Bed with our books, a night cap and the electric blanket on!
So good to see J and Scratch again. It's  been too long.
