Heart & Soul
I came home with a little under 2,000 images from the Rally Trials today and some that I really love, but this is the one I want to feature. I've photographed this beagle before - his name is Micah and he has only one eye. Although he is nearly blind in his "sighted" eye, he still seems to love competing, relying on verbal commands to move through the course. Watching him confidently move, tail wagging, head always turned towards his person just made me smile.
In addition to quite a few "repeats" of dogs I've photographed at prior events, there were also many new dogs which was very fun. During the lunch break, I photographed 2 Shilo Shepards outside in a field - magnificent dogs and I breed I've never seen except at these events. See Extra. Also in Extra is the smallest dog I have ever seen - a Chihuahua that weighs only 2 pounds! I felt like I needed a macro lens!
A long day and I am back there in the morning for another day of shooting. No complaints here - it is great fun.
