I play Gallery Manager?
HA!
Tonight was the closing night for the show at the gallery. I was to be there from 6-8 pm. Octavia, a photographer who contributed to the show and lives in Baltimore, was coming. 6 pm still no one was at the gallery. Uh.
I called my contact. I said no one was there. Yes, someone messed up. There was a key box outside the door. She gave me the code. I unlocked the door and turned on the lights and played docent. Everything went well actually. Lots of people came, including some of my neighbors.
Being there at night was fantastic really because I love night photography, see extras.
“ The Czech-led ammunition initiative for Ukraine can deliver another 1.5m artillery rounds in 2025, as many as last year, the Czech prime minister, Petr Fiala, said on Thursday after the Paris summit of Ukraine’s allies. The initiative was launched last year and funded by a number of allies. Among the rounds provided in 2024 were 500,000 units of 155mm shells, the Czech defence ministry said in February this year. The 155mm rounds fit Nato artillery guns provided by western allies to Ukraine, whereas its post-Soviet arsenal uses 152mm shells. The Czech-led initiative supplies both kinds.”
“ A group of friends are set to drive a vehicle full of aid from Bristol to Ukraine. Natalie Chick, Lewis Lloyd, Alice Banahan and Christian Knight all work for the ambulance service in Bristol and plan to make a three-day trip across Europe to deliver a Toyota Hilux and medical supplies to the city of Lviv.
…. The vehicle and a large portion of the aid have been provided by the charity Driving Ukraine - with the rest coming through donations and fundraisers.
It includes trauma kits, tourniquets and other equipment designed to treat the type of wounds soldiers might sustain.”
When sharing news about Ukraine I’ve often joked/complained about the boring names given to weapons, combinations of letters and numbers, and been happy when the names are interesting, like Hawk or Ghost or something. President Felon just ordered jets that he said will be called F-47. I wholeheartedly support this name.
