Day 17: tree detail

A good day.

Seems as though our feet have hurt a little less - combination of lighter packs, less mileage, and some softer forest paths today.

We visited one temple, bekkaku 5 - Daizen-ji, which was up a long flight of stairs up a hill. There were no temple staff as they were observing some religious practices so we didn’t get a stamp. We did meet one Ohenro-san, Frederick, at the bottom of the stairs who we hadn’t seen for a week or so. I admired him for picking up litter whilst he walked.

We walked about 17.5 miles today.
