Preparations

Concert number 3, in the rather impressive church in Port la Nouvelle, Notre Dame de Bon Voyage, this evening. It has a boat on the altar which you can't see in this photo -- well done me!

Since I've never knowingly blipped Port La Nouvelle before, rarely having any reason to go there, there's an extra of the square outside. Do not be deceived by the blue sky. There's a reason why no-one is sitting outside the bistro. It was so windy when I parked next to the church that the car was rocking on its wheels. I was early on purpose, but abandoned my plan to wander around taking photos, so this is all I've got. I used Lightroom's new AI denoise feature on the main -- it hasn't done too badly.

The concert went well, despite soloist Céline having the initial symptoms of laryngitis. No-one was allowed to talk to her, and she still sang beautifully. It's a large church and was not well filled, but while the audience may have been small the reception was enthusiastic. Quite a few of them stood up to applaud at the end. I think they would have liked a second encore, but they didn't get one (none available!). It's a relatively short programme, about an hour, but tiring to sing because it's full of difficulties. Swiftly home afterwards on the wind-battered autoroute.
