Wonky
Our efforts at throwing pots on the wheel this afternoon. I'm not going to tell you which are mine! It's definitely harder than Frédérique makes it look. She did try to help us out, but I think we need more practice.
Luckily that wasn't all we did. We got to try out slip casting with Frédérique's partner C. This was much easier. Extra: Sarah models pouring the liquid slip out of the mould after letting it set for 20 minutes. We easily produced dinky little vases and cups with this method. It is interesting to learn how many other ways there are of making pots apart from throwing them. Next week we get to decorate all the pieces we've made. I've enjoyed this course even if the results are less than brilliant. It is good for the soul to try something you don't know how to do.
I was quite tired when I got home. Slobbing out in front of a fire of pellets because we've run out of wood. I roasted some new season garlic that I bought at the market on Wednesday, and we squirted it onto sourdough bread topped with fresh creamed goat's cheese, with a glass of white wine. Yummy!
