Sundowner
(30/3/25)
It's been quite a day! Almost non-stop. I started by coding as many invoices as possible before the system shuts for month-end on Monday. But that is only part of it. It is the last working day with Ramadan hours, so we've also got a long weekend.
We met with Diane to enjoy a coffee and chat by the Creek. It's getting hot here, so I wonder how much longer we'll be able to sit outside, even if in the shade.
The big thing today was the Volvo coming home! My extra shows its arrival. The garage was far less cooperative on this front, which is ironic because they've been asking me to move it since December. Anyway, the timing couldn't have been more perfect.
The tow truck arrived at a time when the car park was empty, and it was easy for him to manoeuvre his vehicle to let the Volvo down. He needed some coaxing to put it in the bay with the front facing outwards and straighten it. I have to say, I have great peace of mind knowing it is safe here, where we can keep an eye on it while we look for parts.
As we were dressed, it made sense to head to the Sol Sky Bar right away. It was a good decision as we got to enjoy the Creek in daylight. We had a lovely breeze. I drove us on Baniyas Street before finally reaching home. The entire North bank has been cordoned off for months, and I wanted to see what's going on. It looks like they are refurbishing the entire length of it, making a walkway so that people can enjoy that side of the Creek. Nice.
