Male Chaffinch

A day that got better and better. I've been trying to get closer to the birds feeding in the tree in our back garden and this is about as near as I could hope to achieve. Focus depth inevitably suffers but the camera had latched on to this male chaffinch's eye so I kept taking photos.

We're still struggling to shake off the colds that have been around for more than two weeks, but at least my voice is nearer normal. We took a late walk along the local land locked canal in the nature reserve. the water levels are already low and the weather forecast has no rain in it for the next week at least. Reminiscent of the weather we had 5 years ago during lockdown!
