Wonderful trees at Ashton Court
Ashton Court has been called ‘the lungs of the city of Bristol’. We are so lucky to have it. Used for hot-air balloon fiestas, outdoor music events, but mostly for people to just walk, picnic and admire the beauty of it. Plenty of people enjoying it on a really warm sunny Sunday. I went with my son and dil - so glad I chose a packed lunch instead of a restaurant for today. R my dil, hasn’t been there before, so we enjoyed showing her some of the wonderful things - including the deer park (luckily they were fairly near the fence so we had a good look at them). And the woods where L used to play when little, we showed her the hollow fallen trees he and his friends used to climb over and through (they’re still there). I was hoping also to surprise her with the bluebell woods. We saw just the first few bluebell and wild garlic flowers opening. Going to be an amazing sight in a couple of weeks - luckily they will be back again as L has two more gigs to play that weekend. And a birthday.
