Monstera deliciosa bloom

We have a couple of healthy looking monstera deliciosa plants in the garden and each year I look forward to their blooming and fruiting as they are so OTT. The one in my photo is about 25cm from base to top. The big white part is a bract called the spathe. Until it opens it covers and protects the 'corn on the cob' like spadix, on which the flowers are borne and if fertilised, they become the fruit. What I love about the relationship between the spathe and the spadix is that every little cell ie flower on the spadix is imprinted, by pressure during development, on the spathe.

It should come as no surprise that the monstera is in the Araceae family, same as arum lilies.
