Gently down the stream

Cowslip

Primula veris
Today I went up to Magdalen Hill to see what was going on, so I can tell you the cowslips have begun to trickle over the hillside and will soon become a flood. (I may go back for another shot then).  As far as butterflies were concerned, I saw any number of male brimstones desperately looking for females, who were in very short supply.  Also one of the oldest and most tattered commas I've ever seen.  Clearly left over from last year, poor little thing.  The walk was incredibly beautiful - it was surely the warmest day of the year so far.

Have a lovely evening  xx
