Weather...

The last day of March has been wild and wonderful, vacillating between cold temperatures and sporadic downpours and sunshine for two days. I took this picture on the way home from Kathy's as we were driving over the Fountaingrove Parkway.

Speaking of vacillating, we tested out Kathy's new device which jiggles you from foot to head when you stand on it. It makes you stand up straight but is decidedly strange. I dropped off Spike and John and then drove back across town to pick up some prescriptions.Rite Aid is an enormous space within vast rows of totally empty shelves. It's quite strange (and not all that wonderful).

I finished listening to Burn Book in which Kara Swisher talks about the future of technology and whether it will destroy us or make us better. Up to this point, it really has depended on the people who run it, many of whom have abandoned any attempt at controlling it from unscrupulous trolls. She talks about the few left with a moral compass and muses on where we are headed. There is a bill in the California legislature for parental controls on social media which is a start, although it seems like too little too late. And then there is Artificial Intelligence. If they tested the internet as much as they have tested autonomous vehicles, we might stand a chance. But I think that genie has already gotten out of the bottle....

And speaking of the bottle....I wonder what the alcoholism rate is since Trump took office?
