The Restaurant at the End of the Universe…..
….not quite, but a new coffee kiosk at the end of the railway line.
The Sparkies arrived just as I was finishing my marmalade toast, so I was well set-up with energy for their occasionally baffling chat about kilowatt hours, reverse bias and the mind bending (to me) relationship between amps, ohms, volts and watts. I dabbled with these concepts a bit in high school physics but I still have to focus very hard when chatting to PV Solar installers.
Just like the roofers, these lads smashed the stereotype of the work-shy indigenous tradesman and had all fifteen 450W solar panels installed in under two hours. It's a fairly chunky domestic system and will give me about 6.5kW output on a day like today. I've gone for 13kW batteries and a G99 link to the grid too.
The two young left-behind roofers are still snagging and appear a little bit less keen at my 'knit-picking', but I want this right before they disappear.
Day 10. Phase 2 now complete.
