Osprey at Palm Point Park

The Ospreys, Pandion haliaetus, aka 'Fishhawks' were numerous at Palm Point on the shore of Newnan's Lake.  'Fishhawks' are aptly named since that is by far their favorite food. This one made a couple of half-hearted attempts and coming up 'empty taloned' flew off to another favorite fishing spot. 
note...I'm always happy when I score one of my favorites... a 'look back over your shoulder' shot. m
